Eligibility:

1. Applicants must be either a 2024 graduating Senior in high school, a college student currently enrolled at or applying to an accredited college or university for the 2024-2025 academic year.

2. Applicants must be originally from, currently living or working in Saginaw County or attending or planning to attend an institution within Saginaw County.

3. Applicants must be pursuing coursework in an environmental, agricultural or natural resource related discipline (e.g. agricultural science, geography, environmental science, wildlife biology, livestock veterinarian, etc).

4. Applicants must demonstrate qualities of scholarship, leadership, and community service.

 

Required Documents:

1. Completed scholarship application.

2. One professional letter of recommendation.

3. Current Transcript.

        Current High School Seniors must submit a school transcript including the first semester/trimester of their senior year.  Transcripts              are not the same as a report card or grade report.

        Current College students may submit an unofficial or student copy of their transcript.

 

Award Procedure:

1. The Saginaw Conservation District will be awarding one $1,000 scholarship in 2024.

2. Applicants must submit all required documents to the Saginaw Conservation District by email to  saginawcd@gmail.com, or deliver the application to the district office at 178 N. Graham Road, Saginaw MI 48609 no later than March 31, 2024. Mailed applications must be received in the office no later than March 31, 2024.  A postmark of March 31 will not be sufficient.

3. The award will be presented at the Saginaw Conservation District board meeting in May 2024. The scholarship winner will be informed by April 30, 2024.
