Be in the know before you grow! When purchasing a Basic Soil Analysis keep in mind that you are responsible for dropping your soil sample off at our office. We will have results in approximately 1 week from the time you drop off your soil sample.

A Basic soil sample will test for organic matter, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, CEC, pH, buffer pH. Reccomendations are provided with results.

How to sample:

1. For garden soils, sampling depth should be 6-8 inches. For lawns, sampling depth should be 3-4 inches below the turf.

2. Use a soil probe or shovel to collect sub-sample.

3. Take sub-samples from 5 to 10 different locations across your sample area.

4. Combine all sub-samples into a container, remove any plant material, and mix thoroughly to make one sample.

5. Fill the provided bag to the fill line, or put your sample(s) in a quart-sized baggie and bring it to the office.
